Money Button is like the Facebook Like Button, but it’s money. It’s very easy for developers to build it into apps, and it’s very easy for users to pay with it. Transaction fees are zero, and payments cannot be blocked, reversed, frozen or inflated away.
As we add features like support for giant OP_RETURN data making immutable data storage apps possible, we’re happy to see that usage of Money Button continues to grow. We’d like to share our top ten favorite apps on Money Button.
Fivebucks
Fivebucks allows anyone to monetize their work for five bucks and for anyone to pay for things for five bucks. Fivebucks is our favorite app because the mission of the product, to allow anyone anywhere to engage in trade with anyone anywhere else, is the most important use of Money Button. It leverages the low cost of fees and borderless nature of Bitcoin SV transactions. We highly recommend Fivebucks to everyone.
b://
The b:// protocol and app by prolific developer unwriter allows people to easily insert media of any kind into the blockchain. This was the first app that uses the new OP_RETURN data feature of Money Button.
Bitcoin Plays Pokemon
Bitcoin Plays Pokemon is the first on-chain video game powered by Money Button. Each move in the Pokemon came are a swipe of Money Button and each action happens on the blockchain. The low fees of Money Button and Bitcoin SV transactions are important to make this possible.
BitPaste
BitPaste is a very simple application for adding textual material to the blockchain with Money Button, powered by the b:// protocol by unwriter. It was used to publish this article, and many others.
MetaNet.ICU
MetaNet.ICU is a community of people who are excited about MetaNet, the Bitcoin-based network that encompasses the internet. It is best known as the place where Dr. Craig Wright, Chief Scientist of nChain, likes to post academic papers, both from himself and from others, as fast as people can read them. Usually faster. MetaNet.ICU uses Money Button for their monthly subscriptions.
Button Page
Button Page is a tool created by unwriter to help developers make Money Buttons more easily. In fact, it is so easy, people who aren’t developers can use the app too. It is most commonly used to generate Money Button invoices, since the buttons are shareable on the website.
Number Sonics
Number Sonics is a way to generate a melody from your given name. It is a proprietary technology from Misha Pelt, our first user who, in earlier projects, made use of all of the obscure features of Money Button before anyone else. Her personal website is also wonderful, where we recommend that you tip her daughters, Anika and Paola.
Recursive Money Button
Recursive Money Button is a Money Button that lives on the blockchain (in an HTML file hosted in an OP_RETURN using the b:// protocol). When swiped, the Money Button will generate a new instance of itself. It lives forever if you keep swiping it. We recommend swiping it over and over to help keep it alive.
BitcoinFiles.org
BitcoinFiles.org is a file hosting website where all the files are hosted on the blockchain. It is highly recommended as a responsible, compliant hosting service for all legitimate businesses.
Duck Creation
Duck Creation is a store for duck stickers for Telegram and other services. Many of the ducks feature Money Button, and of course you can tip the creator with Money Button. Best stickers on the MetaNet.
“What do you wish?”
“What do you wish?” is a fully on-chain app that allows people to post wishes to the blockchain. The wishes are on the blockchain, and the app itself is on the blockchain, and it uses Money Button. Awesome.
PageReturn
PageReturn is a file hosting app based on the blockchain. We know this is only a matter of taste, but PageReturn has the most elegant aesthetic, in our opinion, of all blockchain-based file hosting services. Also interesting is that the PageReturn app itself is mirrored on the blockchain.
Bico.Media
Bico.Media is our final on-chain file hosting service that is so good we have used it for several of the links in this very blog post.
PageShot
PageShot lets you easily snapshot a page and save it to a file on the blockchain. It’s a convenient way to make records of anything on the web. Over time, we will put the entire web on the blockchain!
Bonus: The Money Button Main App
Did you know that Money Button uses Money Button? That’s right – our main app has a Money Button inside that you can use to send money to people. Easily type in a Money Button User ID or bitcoin address and swipe away for zero percent transaction fees and unblockable, unfreezable, irreversible payments that cannot be inflated away.
Conclusion
This list is not comprehensive. Thank you to all the developers who build apps with Money Button. There were many that didn’t make the list. One of our top priorities is to build a Money Button discovery page with a live list of Money Buttons found everywhere on the MetaNet and beyond. Stay tuned for news about the discovery page and other features and products we build for Money Button.
