Since we last we wrote about the Top Ten Money Button Apps, a lot has happened and many new apps have been created. Many of the new apps do things that weren’t possible until recently, particularly around on-chain data and applications. We thought it would be cool to share the best of the new apps.

bitstagram

Screen Shot 2019-04-15 at 7.01.25 PM.pngThe most popular of the new apps is bitstagram. It’s an easy way for people to share photos with each other. It’s like Instagram, but it’s on the blockchain. Like many other apps on this list, it is powered by both Money Button (to write data) and Planaria (to read data).

add.bico.media

Screen Shot 2019-04-15 at 7.05.20 PM.pngbico.media has added an important feature since we featured them in the last list: large, multi-part file uploads using the bcat protocol. We’ve also written this step-by-step guide to uploading large files on the Bitcoin SV blockchain with add.bico.media. bico.media has been used to write all of the largest blocks in the history of Bitcoin SV.

BitPaste Pay Wall

Screen Shot 2019-04-15 at 7.03.12 PM.pngBitPaste was featured in our last list, but they’ve since added an important feature: fully on-chain pay walls. BitPaste is also where Money Button CEO Ryan X. Charles publishes his on-chain blog, such as this post on really big blocks.

etched

immortalsv.com

Screen Shot 2019-04-15 at 7.32.44 PM.pngSimilar to etched, immortalsv.com is a way to permanently save a website to the blockchain. However, it works differently. Instead of taking the parts of the web page and saving them individually, it creates a screen shot of the image and saves that. In that respect it is a lot like PageShot, featured in our last list.

weightless

Screen Shot 2019-04-15 at 7.41.26 PM.pngweightless is a fully on-chain message board. It is the first example in our list of an app that is actually stored on the blockchain. In their own words, “Weightless is a fully-autonomous, real-time, public message board saved permanently on the blockchain.”

Conclusion

People are building apps with Money Button and Bitcoin SV so quickly that it is difficult to keep track of all of them. This list is not comprehensive. Be sure to check out the previous list of Top Ten Money Button Apps, which contains many apps not listed here. We would like to give a special shout out to those apps, which remain wonderful, useful apps: Fivebucks, b://, Bitcoin Plays Pokemon, BitPaste, MetaNet.ICU, Button Page, Number Sonics, Recursive Money Button, BitcoinFiles.org, DuckCreation“What do you wish?”, PageReturn, Bico.Media, PageShot.
